Toyota: vehicle innovations ahead
(CercleFinance.com) - Suzuki Motor Corporation, Daihatsu Motor Co and Toyota Motor Corporation will unveil a prototype of commercial electric minibuses (BEVs) equipped with a jointly developed BEV system.
The unveiling will take place at an exhibition showcasing the automotive industry's efforts to achieve carbon neutrality from Thursday 18 May to Sunday 21 May. The exhibition will be organised by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association in conjunction with the G7 Hiroshima Summit.
Toyota has also announced that it is partnering Komatsu, a Japanese company that manufactures construction and mining equipment, in a project to develop an autonomous light vehicle (ALV) based on Komatsu's autonomous transportation system (AHS).
The companies intend to jointly develop new technologies to achieve improvements in safety and productivity. This aims to accelerate autonomy in mining operations and avoid incidents caused by human error.
