WPP: buys German creative agency thjnk.
(CercleFinance.com) - WPP has agreed to acquire thjnk, an independent creative agency in Germany, the group's fourth largest market after the US, the UK and China.
Founded in 2012 in Hamburg, with offices in Berlin, Dusseldorf, Munich, Zurich and New York, thjnk specialises in advertising, design and corporate publishing.
The agency - set to remain an independent brand within the WPP group - currently has 400 employees.
WPP says it is now placing greater emphasis on growth in Western Continental Europe as a result of UK's referendum decision to leave the European Union.
Germany, France, Italy and Spain feature in the advertising group's top 10 markets worldwide.
