Telecom Italia: sets business plan for 2018-2020.
(CercleFinance.com) - Telecom Italia, Italy's biggest phone group, confirmed its financial guidance for the next year after setting guidelines for its 2018-2020 business plan.
The plan is based on a greater use of data analytics and digitalisation, with the intention of improving profitability and cash flow generation, the Rome-based operator said.
TIM also said it would continue to examine options to decide whether network separation is needed to "unlock value."
In the meantime, TIM's board of directors has authorised management to continue negotiations and finalise a new multi-year agreement with Mediaset.
Such a deal would include content, movies and TV series, but also the broadcasting rights for Series A championship matches and the 2018 Champions League, the company said.
Regarding the Canal+ case, Telecom Italia reiterated the interest in setting-up a joint venture with the French pay-television operator.
Shares in Telecom Italia were up 0.3% this morning in Milan after all these announcements.
