ENI: 'significant' discovery in North Sea
(CercleFinance.com) - Eni announced on Wednesday that it had made a "significant" discovery of hybrid hydrocarbons in the North Sea, off the coast of Norway, with estimated resources of between 150 and 240 million barrels of oil equivalent.
The Italian group said in a statement that the well was drilled at 2,282 metres below sea level in a water depth of 349 metres.
Eni says that its subsidiary Vår Energi holds a 25% stake in the licence that operates the well in question, alongside operator Equinor (45%), Japan's Idemitsu (15%) and the UK's Neptune Energy (15%).
