ENI: new wind energy projects in Italy

(CercleFinance.com) - Eni announced on Monday that it has acquired three wind energy projects in Italy as part of the decarbonisation program of its activities.

The energy group said it had acquired from the green electricity producer Asja Ambiente Italia all of the CDGB Enrico, CDGB Laerte and Wind Park Laterza projects, located in Puglia, in southern Italy.

The construction of these three wind farms, which are expected to produce around 81 gigawatt hours (GWh) per year, is scheduled to begin in 2021.

This is the first wind farm owned by Eni in Italy.

As a reminder, the group has set itself the target of reducing its net greenhouse gas emissions from the production cycle of its energy products by 80% by 2050.
