Eni: makes new oil discovery in Egypt
(CercleFinance.com) - Italian energy group Eni on Thursday said it had struck oil at an exploration prospect located in the western desert of Egypt.
The exploratory well has been drilled to a total depth of 5,090 metres and has found 18 metres of light crude oil, as well as other hydrocarbons, at different levels in the sandstone.
The well is now open for production and has delivered 2,300 barrel of light oil equivalent per day, Eni said.
