Eni: to test new kind of ecological fuel in Turin.
(CercleFinance.com) - Italian oil major Eni has signed an agreement with the city of Turin to experiment a new kind of ecological fuel.
The energy group will provide the Turin transport company with the new Eni Diesel+, a new fuel with 15% of renewable components.
From July to October, the city bus fleet of 650 vehicles will use the new fuel, resulting in reductions of polluting emissions.
For the record, Eni operates a bio refinery in Venice which can transform raw biological sources, including used and regenerated vegetable oils, into biofuels.
The deal was signed as the city of Turin has recently started promoting the collection of used vegetable oils from households.
