Generali: to sell Dutch unit for 143 million euros.
(CercleFinance.com) - Italian insurance group Generali said on Wednesday that it has entered into an agreement to sell its entire stake in Generali Nederland as part of its strategy to optimise geographical presence.
In detail, Generali Group will sell its 98.6% stake in Generali Nederland and subsidiaries to Dutch insurer ASR Nederland. In return, the group will receive 143 million euros.
As a reminder, the Italian company recently closed its businesses in Guatemala and agreed to sell operations in Colombia and Panama.
Generali said it is now well on track to executing its strategy and confident that it will generate at least 1 billion euros in cash.
