Linde: raises full-year guidance after 'strong' quarter

(CercleFinance.com) - Linde has raised its full-year earnings guidance after delivering "strong" financial results in the past quarter, with its operating margin expanding.

Despite expecting a continued softening of the global economy, the industrial gas maker said it expected adjusted pro-forma diluted EPS to be between 7.25 dollars and 7.30 dollars for 2019, up 17% to 18% from last year.

The UK-based company said third-quarter operating profit rose by 49% to 1 billion dollars, mainly due to a gain from a merger-related divestment. On an adjusted pro-forma basis, operating profit was up 16%.

Adjusted pro-forma EPS from continuing operations was 1.94 dollar, up 26% year-on-year.

Linde's pro-forma sales rose by 1% to 7 billion dollars.

The share is currently up 1.4% at 186.9 euros in Frankfurt.
