Accenture: names North America head as CEO
(CercleFinance.com) - Consulting giant Accenture on Friday named Julie Sweet, its chief executive officer for North America, as its chief executive officer.
Sweet, 51, will succeed David Rowland, who was named interim chief executive officer earlier this year after former CEO Pierre Nanterme stepped down for health reasons. Nanterme died in January.
Rowland has been appointed executive chairman.
North America is Accenture's largest geographic market, with revenues of approximately 18 billion dollars last year, almost 50% of the group's global revenues.
Prior to joining Accenture in 2010, Sweet was a partner for 10 years at law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore.
