Vodafone: starts 5G mobile service in seven UK cities
(CercleFinance.com) - Vodafone said on Tuesday that it has switched on its 5G network in seven cities across the UK, including Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool and London.
The British mobile operator is also planning to offer 5G roaming in four European countries over the summer.
The move comes as customer mobile data usage is increasing at an annual rate of 50%.
5G will help support the adoption of many new technologies such as artificial intelligence, IoT, robotics, connected cities and self-driving cars with many industries.
To influence a switch to 5G, Vodafone is offering business customers packages that include 5G and unlimited data at same price as 4G.
