Compass: shares struggle despite strong organic growth
(CercleFinance.com) - Compass shares are struggling on Thursday, despite results showing that the British caterer recorded strong organic sales growth of 6.
6% in the six months ended 31 March.
The company posted "excellent performance" in North America, with broad based organic sales growth of 7.9% in the first half, as well as "strong performance" in Europe, particularly in UK defence.
Operating profit rose by 5.8% to 951 million pounds in the first half of the financial year.
Compass said it has raised its full-year organic revenue growth guidance, expecting to deliver organic revenue growth and margin progression similar to levels in 2018.
This report was not enough to convince investors, however, and the share were trading 1.1% lower at 1,758 pence in mid-morning trading.
