Sainsbury: new chairman in 2019
(CercleFinance.com) - UK retail giant Sainsbury has announced the appointment of Martin Scicluna as the next non-executive chairman: he will join the board of directors as non-executive member and president-elect from 1 November 2018.
He will be work in close collaboration with the group's current chairman David Tyler during a transition period, before taking over as board chairman early next fiscal year, i.e. in March 2019, or soon thereafter.
As a reminder, the British food retailer group announced its search for a new chairman last April. Martin Scicluna is currently chairman of RSA Insurance and Great Portland Estates.
