Barclays: share buybacks resume
(CercleFinance.com) - On Friday Barclays announced the launch of a share buyback program for up to 700 million pounds (820 million euros).
The British bank said that this buyback program will start today and will be completed by 4 August.
The program aims to reduce the group's capital by cancelling the shares bought back, Barclays said in a statement.
For the record, Barclays suspended its dividend payments and share buybacks almost a year ago, in the midst of the pandemic.
