BT: extends 5G network in the UK
(CercleFinance.com) - BT today announced that investment and improvements to the mobile network did not stop during the pandemic.
As a result, 5G has been deployed in 35 new locations, totaling 160 UK cities.
The group said that it has added outdoor 5G coverage to some of the UK's most popular tourist attractions, historic sites and coastal areas.
The operator, which expects a massive return of domestic tourism, says that 75% of the top 20 inland tourism towns now have access to 5G on the EE network.
After months of lockdowns, restrictions and travel controls, the British operator expects restrictions to be gradually lifted and mobility to return. BT believes that the mass return to mobile networks will be accompanied by higher demands, as British people have become accustomed to the quality of their domestic network.
