AstraZeneca: EU approves drug for type-1 diabetes
(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has approved AstraZeneca's drug Forxiga as an adjunct to insulin for adults with type-1 diabetes when glucose levels are not adequately controlled with insulin alone, the drug maker said on Monday.
Forxiga is the first AstraZeneca medicine ever approved for type-1 diabetes.
The pill is also under regulatory review in Japan and the US, with decisions expected in 2019.
AstraZeneca shares are currently flat in London.
