BP: bets on digital for safety of operations in the Gulf
(CercleFinance.com) - BP has deployed a cloud-based advanced analytics technology to deliver improvements in safety, reliability and performance at its four operated platforms in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico.
The Plant Operations Advisor (POA) solution developed with GE's Baker Hughes has been chosen after an initial deployment proving the technology could help prevent unplanned downtime at one platform.
The technology has now been successfully installed and tested at BP's three other platforms in the Gulf and will continue to be deployed at over 30 of BP's upstream assets worldwide as the oil giant modernises its operations.
