BAE Systems: adapts its technology to submarine environment
(CercleFinance.com) - BAE Systems has announced that it will use its decades of experience in the air to equip the Dreadnought, a new-generation British submarine.
The fly-by-wire flight control system will be adapted to the underwater environment. As with modern air transport, the AVCM system will supervise the submarine's manoeuvres, with the highest levels of safety and reliability, BAE Systems says.
With over 50 years' experience in aviation, we already have a great understanding of how to develop complex control systems for high-tech platforms. However, taking our technology underwater is a new challenge and we are proud to be involved in the Dreadnought program, the group said.
