Spie: installs reactor for TransnetBW, Germany

(CercleFinance.com) - Spie announces that it has installed a 380 kV shunt reactor, complete with switch field at the Stuttgart-Mühlhausen substation (Germany), on behalf of transmission network operator TransnetBW.

The shunt reactor weighs 360 tonnes and has a permanently allowed system voltage of 440 kV (kilovolt).

By stabilising the high-voltage grid, this reactor is essential for a successful energy transition in Germany and offers a reliable alternative to the shutdown of conventional power plants, as well as fluctuating solar and wind power feed-in.
