Elis: 2018 underlying income reaches E224.3m (+40.4%)

(CercleFinance.com) - Elis, which provides linen & workwear rental, laundry services, hygiene and well-being services, reported sales that are up over 42.
8% at 3.1 billion euros in 2018.

Organic growth was +2.6%, with pro-forma organic growth of +2.4%.
EBITDA rose by 47.1% to 985.6 million euros, driven by the acquisition of Berendsen. Elis' EBITDA margin rose by 90 bp, and was up in all Elis' geographic areas.

2018 net income came in at 83.0 million euros, up 93.9% from 2017. Meanwhile, the group's underlying net income came in at 224.3 million euros, up 40.4% compared to 2017.

Regarding its outlook for 2019, Elis targets organic growth of approximately +3.0%, while expecting an EBITDA margin of between 31.2% and 31.6% (excluding IFRS 16 impact), in a context of rising labour and energy costs, with investments representing 20% of sales.
