Getlink: truck traffic -23% in April but passengers +5%
(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday Getlink reported a 23% drop to 98,737 trucks using its services last month compared to the same period last year.
The Channel Tunnel operator said that the decline was due to an unfavourable comparison basis, with figures for 2022 inflated by the closure of P&O ferry operations on the Strait.
In the four months from January to April, Eurotunnel's owner said it carried 420,641 trucks, down 17%.
However, passenger car traffic rose by 5% relative to April 2022, to 214,973 vehicles transported.
