Eurotunnel: passenger shuttle traffic down 7% in June.
(CercleFinance.com) - Eurotunnel has announced that passenger shuttle traffic fell by 7% y-o-y in June compared, with 231,111 vehicles transported, penalised by an unfavourable comparison basis, due to the Euro 2016 football tournament last year.
Meanwhile, Shuttle Freight traffic was flat, with 141,384 trucks transported, hit by a slightly unfavourable calendar effect, with the Pentecost weekend in June this year, while it was in May last year.
Since 1 January, passenger traffic has fallen by 2% and truck traffic slipped very slightly (-1%), due to the very difficult weather conditions in southern Europe at the beginning of the year.
