EDF: Framatome notes technical deviation in components
(CercleFinance.com) - EDF has been informed by Framatome of a deviation from the technical reference framework for the manufacture of nuclear reactor components, concerning equipment in service and new equipment that is not yet in service or installed on a site.
EDF specifies that this difference relates to the non-respect of temperature ranges on certain zones, during so called thermal stress relieving manufacturing operations, carried out on certain welds of steam generators.
EDF is conducting extensive analyzes with Framatome to identify the equipment and reactors concerned. It has informed the Nuclear Safety Authority of its first analyses and will provide additional information progressively with ongoing analyses.
