EDF: acquires windfarm in Scotland
(CercleFinance.com) - EDF has acquired the wind farm project called "Neart na Gaoithe" from Mainstream Renewable Power, an international group operating in wind and solar power.
This offshore wind farm will generate 450 MW; capable of supplying electricity to over 375,000 homes.
The project is located in the Firth of Forth on the east coast of Scotland and has a surface area of 105 km2. The company has a Contract for Difference (CFD) for a period of 15 years, as well as network access agreements.
EDF has invested a total of almost 1.8 billion pounds in the project, which is set to be commissioned in 2023.
