Eutelsat: contract renewed with Sky Italia
(CercleFinance.com) - Eutelsat and Sky Italia announce an agreement to renew the in-orbit resources at Eutelsat's Hotbird position, which will enable Sky Italia to continue to broadcast its premium programmes to approximately five million households.
This multi-year contract represents a secure order backlog of around 450 million euros and guarantees stability in Eutelsat's overall annual revenues over the medium term. It also includes various future extension options.
The Hotbird satellite fleet will be optimised thanks to the implementation of two latest-generation satellites, which will be launched in 2021 to replace the satellites that are currently operated at 13° East, Eutelsat's reference point for television broadcasting.
