Eutelsat: satellite arrives at cosmodrome in Kazakstan
(CercleFinance.com) - Eutelsat Communications announces the arrival of its Eutelsat 5 West B satellite at the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, from where it will be launched on a Proton Breeze rocket on 30 September, under the supervision of the International Launch Services.
This satellite will serve the video markets of Europe and North Africa, with a useful load in Ku band including 35 repeaters equivalent to 36 MHz, from the orbital position 5° West, where it will take over from Eutelsat 5 West A.
Under a long-term contract signed in 2017, it will also embark the GEO-3 payload of the European navigation system by geostationary recovery, intended for global satellite navigation systems such as GPS and Galileo.
