Alstom: contract for Mumbai metro in India

(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom has announced that it has been awarded a 220 million euro contract for the design, manufacture, supply, testing and commissioning of 234 metro wagons, in addition to staff training, for Mumbai Line 4 and its extension.


The line is 35.3 km long and has 32 stations. It will provide an interconnection between the existing Eastern Express Roadway, the existing monorail, the 2B metro line, which is being built, and the proposed metro lines 5 and 6.

The transportation equipment manufacturer points out that new products have been added to its portfolio as part of the acquisition of Bombardier Transportation, enabling it to provide a significantly enhanced offering to clients in the region.
