Alstom: acquires 21net from Innovacom
(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom has announced the acquisition of 21net from Fund Innovacom and other investors.
21net provides onboard Internet and Infotainment for the rail industry. The company is headquartered in the UK, and has subsidiaries in Belgium, France, Italy and India. It generated sales of approximately 16 million euros in 2017.
Over the years, the company has acquired expertise in the design and optimisation of end-to-end networks for broadband Internet onboard high-speed trains.
In particular, the company has installed Wi-Fi equipment in France's high-speed TGV trains, following a contract signed with the SNCF in 2016. Alstom has already worked with 21net on Wi-Fi equipment and infotainment on NTV trains in Italy.
