Engie: new Green hybrid bond issue
(CercleFinance.com) - Engie announces that last Thursday it issued its first corporate hybrid green bond of 2019, for 1 billion euros.
The perpetual subordinated bond bears a coupon of 3.25% and its first non-call period is 6 years and 1 month.
The issue was largely oversubscribed to by investors (6.5 times), amongst which for the first time on the French market there is the European Investment Bank for 250 million euros, as part of the Juncker Plan.
The new issue will replace the PerpNC2019 hybrid bonds issued in 2014, proposed for redemption, and will therefore not affect the total amount of equity allocated by rating agencies under this instrument.
