Orange: creates joint venture for fiber in Poland
(CercleFinance.com) - Orange today announces the creation, by its Polish subsidiary, of a FiberCo, which is 50/50 owned with APG to support the deployment of fiber in Poland, in areas where access to very high speed infrastructure is limited or non-existent.
FiberCo will include 2.4 million lines, of which 1.7 million are to be rolled out over the next five years. This project will enable Orange Polska to pursue its ambitious fiber rollout strategy by sharing its investment costs.
The transaction values the joint venture at 605 million euros. As part of the deal, Orange Polska will receive 1374 million zlotys (303 million euros) from APG, 65% of which will be paid at closing and the balance between 2022 and 2026, depending on the progress of the rollout.
