Orange: signs MoU with Europol against cybercrime

(CercleFinance.com) - The Orange group today announces that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Europol (the European agency for police cooperation), in order to strengthen their collaboration and share their knowledge on cybersecurity and major attacks.

The agreement, signed in The Hague, thus provides a framework for Orange and Europol to exchange information on the state of the threat on cyber-crime networks and trends. Orange will help strengthen and enrich data by exchanging technical expertise and sharing indicators (spam, DDoS attacks, fraud, cyber-attacks on mobiles or banking and the like) that the operator can see happen in its networks.

"Thanks to our work with the relevant authorities (in charge of cybercrime in each European country where Orange is present as a telecom operator) in each country and the experience it has given us, we will be able to capitalise on this agreement with Europol to offer our customers and all web users a safer Internet," said Jean-Luc Moliner, Director of Security at Orange Group.
