Renault: partnership to recycle EV battery metals
(CercleFinance.com) - Renault, Veolia and Solvay have announced a partnership to set up a circular ecosystem for metals from EV batteries in Europe, which aims to preserve resources, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create value.
The three partners aim to build a secure and sustainable supply of strategic battery metals, such as cobalt, nickel and lithium, by leveraging their respective expertise at each stage of the value chain.
They are already actively engaged in an experimental phase involving the setting up of a pilot plant in France, on a pre-industrial scale, which is capable of extracting and purifying the metals contained in end-of-life batteries.
