Renault: enters Kalray's capital
(CercleFinance.com) - The Renault-NissanMitsubishi Alliance's venture capital fund has entered into Kalray's capital, which is a pioneer of microchips which are dedicated to new intelligent systems, alongside Definvest, the fund managed by Bpifrance on behalf of the French Ministry of Defense, we learned this Wednesday morning.
This transaction totals 10 million euros, including existing shareholders and new investors. It is the second tranche of a 23.6 million fundraising that began last June with Safran Corporate Ventures, the Asian investment fund Pengpai and its historical shareholders ACE Management, CEA Investissement, EUREKAP! and Inocap Gestion.
The funds raised will facilitate the commercial deployment of the existing microchip and finalise the development of the next generation, which is set to be launched next year.
