BNP Paribas: Q1 2019 net income up 22.4%

(CercleFinance.com) - BNP Paribas publishes a net income, group share of 1,918 million euros for the first three months of 2019, up 22.
4% year-on-year (-0.2% excluding the impact of extraordinary items and the impact of IFRIC 21).

Risk provisions increased by 25% to 769 million euros, although gross operating profit rose by 6.2% to 2,695 million euros (+12.5% LFL) for net banking income that is up 3.2% at 11,144 million euros (+3.9% in organic terms).

"Economic growth slowed down in Europe but remained positive. After the crisis in the markets at the end of 2018, the market context remained lacklustre at the beginning of the quarter, but improved towards the end of the period," the banking group said.
