Eiffage: wins contract worth over E250m

(CercleFinance.com) - Eiffage announced on Thursday evening that it has won (through Smulders, a Belgian subsidiary of Eiffage Métal, in association with GeoSea, a subsidiary of DEME) a contract worth over 250 million euros, for the construction of the Moray Offshore Windfarm East, off the north-eastern coast of Scotland.

"The project covers the design, supply and installation of the 100 jacket foundations, each 85 metres high and weighing 1,000 tonnes. Smulders and Eiffage Métal plants in the United Kingdom, France, Belgium and Poland will produce 55 foundations. All will then be assembled in the United Kingdom and transported and installed offshore by GeoSea," Eiffage said.

This wind farm project will be able to provide energy to around 950,000 households.
