Eiffage: to expand assembly hall for Airbus planes
(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus entrusts to Eiffage Construction the enlargement of Comet 4, the section assembly hall of A350 aircraft in Saint-Nazaire, Eiffage has announced.
These works will enable the Saint-Nazaire site to increase the capacity of both the A350 aircraft production lines, intended for long-haul flights. The work will begin on 9 July. The extension will be available for production from 1 April 2019.
"The works will be realized in skeleton metal, dressed in bardages and in glazed horizontal headbands resting on a paving stone carried by pickets. The control of work is entrusted to Brunerie and Irissou Architectes.
8,200 m² of ground and 9,300 m² of VRD ((Public road network and Diverse Network) will be created on the site during 17 months of construction," Eifffage said.
