Vinci: signs contract with Siemens Gamesa
(CercleFinance.com) - The consortium led by GTM Normandie-Centre (Vinci Construction France) has been selected by Siemens Gamesa to build its new offshore wind turbine manufacturing plant in the port of Le Havre, France.
They are intended, amongst other things, for the offshore wind farms of Fécamp (71 wind turbines) and Saint-Brieuc (62).
"The 20-hectare facility, France's largest-ever industrial project focused on renewable energy, will be the world's first-ever plant producing the full range of offshore turbine components under one roof," the group said.
The project will employ 350 people and is scheduled for commissioning between late 2021 and early 2022.
