Ingenico's payment data analysis shows that this day, which is traditionally focused on the Chinese market, has become a real global phenomenon.
"Growth has been particularly strong in Latin America, North America, Russia and the main European markets. Ingenico processes online and mobile payments for many large companies worldwide, including some of the largest marketplaces in China, the group said.
For example, Russian consumers made ten times more transactions on Singles' Day than on an average day. In Latin America, growth was stronger in Chile, where the number of transactions handled by Ingenico was nearly 9 times higher than normal.
