Saint-Gobain: MoU with Australia's Alpha HPA
(CercleFinance.com) - Australia's Alpha HPA announced on Monday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Saint-Gobain to supply its high-purity alumina to the building materials group.
The partnership with the French group's ceramic solutions and plastic films subsidiary provides for the latter to market products based on Alpha's intellectual property, particularly regarding the preparation of boehmite, a precursor of alumina.
These products are to be used in applications ranging from surface conditioning to crystals to materials for rechargeable batteries, Alpha said in a statement.
The memorandum of understanding also lays the groundwork for joint investments, the Australian group said, although it did not specify the financial terms of the deal.
