Colas: approached to build first tramway in Liège

(CercleFinance.com) - Colas is leading the consortium that has been approached by the transport operator of the Belgian region of Wallonia for the public-private partnership (PPP) for the first tramway line in Liège.


The contract is expected to be signed before the end of 2018. No amount has been specified.

In addition to three subsidiaries of Colas, the Tram'Ardent consortium includes DIF, a financial company, and the Spanish railway equipment supplier CAF. He will be responsible for building the 11.7 km long tramway line, developing the surrounding areas and building the maintenance and storage workshops, with CAF supplying the rolling stock.

In addition, a joint venture between CAF and Colas will maintain the equipment for the duration of the PPP.

The line is expected to be delivered in the second half of 2022.
