Peugeot: new autonomous vehicle tests with Vinci
(CercleFinance.com) - Groupe PSA and Vinci Autoroutes have tested new functionalities of autonomous vehicles in Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines (France).
The two groups conducted more in-depth tests on autonomous driving at cruising speed and on crossing of a tollgate in autonomous mode.
The aim of these tests is to increase the vehicle's ability to adapt its driving in exceptional or complex situations.
Carla Gohin, Chief Technology Officer of Groupe PSA commented: “Two years after the first trial, the aim was to include even more constraints in the use cases by strengthening communication between the autonomous vehicle and the road infrastructure in order to broaden the scope of the system's action while ensuring safety”.
