Peugeot: creates the company Nidec-PSA emotors

Shigenobu Nagamori, Chairman and CEO of Nidec and Carlos Tavares, Chairman of PSA's Management Board, have approved the creation of the company "Nidec-PSA emotors".
This new joint venture between Nidec Leroy-Somer and PSA Group is dedicated to the design, development, manufacture and sale of electric traction engines.
These new electric traction engines will be produced at the Trémery plant in Moselle, before being integrated into the MHEV, rechargeable hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) and electric vehicles (EVs).
Both groups will invest 220 million euros in setting up this joint venture.
This investment supports the PSA Group's move towards electrical vehicles, which will offer an electrified version of all models of its brands by 2025, the group said.
