Thales: E235m contract with Italian Space Agency
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), today announced that it has been awarded a E235m contract by the Italian Space Agency (ASI) for the design, development and qualification of a vehicle to perform a dedicated In-Orbit Servicing (IOS) demonstration mission.
Thales Alenia Space will lead a joint venture (JV) involving Leonardo, Telespazio, Avio and D-Orbit.
This Low Earth Orbit (LEO) demonstration mission will be developed within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), with the support of the ASI.
It is planned to be launched by 2026.
