Thales: smart access for Spanish airports
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales announced on Thursday that it has teamed up with Inetum (formerly Gfi Informatique), to provide three Spanish airports with smart border control access.
The security specialist and the digital services company say that they have supplied the airports of Valencia and Bilbao with over 45 automatic border control gates based on facial recognition and automatic document verification.
These smart checkpoints have been operational since July.
Fuerteventura airport (in the Canaries) is also in the deployment phase, with 36 gates being installed, the companies said in a joint statement.
