Thales: contract for German frigates
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales has announced that it has signed a contract with Damen Shipbuilding for the supply and integration of Thales' mission and combat system on-board four MKS 180 frigates for the German Navy.
Worth around 1.5 billion euros, this contract will be executed by Thales' centres of excellence based in Hengelo, the Netherlands, Kiel and Wilhelmshaven, Germany, in cooperation with many German subcontractors.
This contract, which is one of the largest ever signed by Thales, includes the Tacticos combat management system and the AWWS fire control system. The contract's terms include an option for the future equipment of one or two additional vessels.
