Thales: develops drone surveillance solutions
(CercleFinance.com) - Teréga, the gas operator that is accelerating the energy transition, and Thales, a high-tech specialist, today signed an agreement for Thales to implement a solution for monitoring Teréga's gas transmission network using long-distance drones.
These solutions will make it possible to use drones to monitor half of Teréga's gas pipeline network of over 5,000 km.
Ultimately, the development of this project will make it possible to limit the use of aircraft and helicopters currently used by Teréga, thereby limiting the environmental impact and reducing the costs of operations, while increasing the frequency of infrastructure surveillance.
The first tests began in mid-November 2020 in uninhabited areas.
