Thales: contract for ID and official documents in Texas
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales has announced signing a contract with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
It will be in charge of protecting the personal data of its citizens' driver's licenses and electronic ID cards.
This is the 11th US State to entrust in Thales' digital technology. Over 7 million cards, that are compliant with national security standards (Real ID Act) will be issued to residents each year.
Thales will design, manufacture and supply driver's licenses and ID cards, which will then be personalised and managed by the DPS. The design of these cards will incorporate the latest security features to counter fraud attempts.
