Thales: to provide 15 million e-passports to Thailand
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales announces that the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has awarded the consortium DGM, which includes Thales Group's Gemalto, a seven-year contract for the supply of 15 million e-passports to its citizens.
With this in mind, the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide 15 million technically advanced and highly secure passports to Thai citizens.
The Thai e-passport project is the largest passport contract signed by the Group in 2019.
"By bringing superior standards of technology and enhancing local technical expertise, Thales aligns closely with the Government's 'Thailand 4.0' initiative which aims to drive Thailand towards an innovation and value-based economy," the group said.
