Thales: signs contract with EUMETSAT
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), and the Polish company CloudFerro announce the signing of a contract with EUMETSAT.
The contract covers the delivery of cloud computing and related services for the WEkEO platform. WEkEO is one of five Data Information and Access Services (DIAS) funded by the European Commission under the Copernicus program.
The contract is worth 10 million euros and covers the provision "as a service" of the IT infrastructure, storage and network, as well as data access and its processing until October 2021.
The WEKEO platform will begin to be developed in mid-April 2019.
