Thales: success of ELI-NP project laser system
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales says its ELI-NP project in Romania has recently reached a major milestone, with its ultra-intense laser system delivering its first pulses with a record peak power of 10 petawatts, making it the most powerful laser in the world.
The group started to set up this laser system at the end of 2016 in Magurele, near Bucharest, which will be the heart of a new unique high-tech and fundamental research centre in the field of nuclear physics.
